Wrongful act

February 28, 2009 · 1 Comment

Al had two small lumps that look like pimple on his elbow. The day before, he asked Doc Toh to squeeze them out. Doc Toh took a look at them and thought that maybe she could. But after like 15 minutes of poking and squeezing, nothing came out at all. So Doc Toh told him nothing could be done.

Yesterday, Al complained that his elbow felt weird. But Doc Toh thought he is being too sensitive. So his concern was left unanswered.

This morning, Doc Toh met him at the coffee shop. Before she left for work (yeah, on a Saturday), she saw his red and swollen elbow and got real worried.

The swollen elbow

The swollen elbow

But Al was cool about it and comforted Doc Toh that it wasn’t her fault and if the swelling doesn’t go away by today, he shall visit the REAL doctor tomorrow.

Doc Toh really hope that the pain and swelling would go away. Otherwise, she will be so guilt striken… :(

Who is blur?

Al was off last Saturday and we wanted to redeem the zara voucher so we went to Orchard. Since I have a restaurant promotion voucher, I decided to use it for lunch at Big O. As we ordered, I took out the voucher and asked the waiter if I can still use it as there is no expiry date stated. The waiter took a (few seconds) look at it and went off to check with his manager. He came back and said “Miss, I think you can still use the voucher but it not this restaurant. Its the one at Pacific Plaza.”

Me : *TMD*

Project Friday II

February 21, 2009 · Leave a Comment

There were 7 of us. Nana and Niu Niu’s appointment is at Pacific Plaza. So we decided on Lido to watch Slumdog Millionaire. We bought the tickets for 5 (got 2 for free as ABN Amro bank got special promotion) for the show at 1630.

Slumdog Millionaire, the only thing I know about this show is that it has won some awards and the actors are all INDIANS and its a comedy. Well, at the start of the show, Niu Niu is already making a lot of ‘eeeees’, ‘aiyehs’, ‘aiyos’ etc etc noises beside me. At 1/4 of the show, she said she cannot take it and walked out. So only the 6 of us continued with it. Basically, Niu Niu dislikes show with any cruelty content, which I think most of us have seen worst compared to Slumdog Millionaire. Haha.. Anyway, I do not wish to go into details to the show. The main attention is on Niu Niu.

Show ended at 183o. We found Niu Niu sitting outside along the cinema reading 8 days (magazine). Then she started asking us how was the show? the ending? Nana seems to be the only one giving her the details. So she targeted at her. When we were about to go our own way, she started crying (at the entrance of Lido) thinking of those poor kids living in the slum. Hahhahha, I finally found a match to the throne of being a cry baby.

Silly Michelle.

And Teng, by the way, its not Scumdog Millionaire, its Slumdog Millionaire :)

Project Friday

February 19, 2009 · Leave a Comment

During the new year dinner for the whole tax department, Debbie and Teng both won the fastest beer drinker under the ladies and men categories respectively. Being trained frequently  at birthday celebrations and ‘meet up with Mr Poon’ sessions have done them good. The winner each get a $50 Crystal jade voucher. So the 2 winners both from our table won $100 worth of Crystal jade vouchers.

So we decided to have a “Project Friday”.

We will take half day to celebrate for the 2 winners :) Of cos, Ms Gan is invited and is more than willing to say yes.

Our project itenary would be as follows:-

(1) Set off to Takashimaya for the expensive lunch;

(2) Catch “Slumdog Millionaire” at Cineleisure, 4pm;

(3) Rest and relax for the rest whilst Nana and Niu Niu go for their hair cuts.

TGIF!!

A productive week

February 13, 2009 · Leave a Comment

This week went past in a blink. I was swarmed with loads of CITQ, notices, and more CITQs and more notices. Managed to finish a few nasty ones but was still left with a stack of them which requires my action. Work isn’t getting any better with my Partner asking about status of a piece of (not so urgent but demanding client) work; client requesting for immediate action on not so urgent stuff; advice which needs to go out by next monday; administrative work like chasing of bills which I dunno when it became my responsibilities etc etc etc.

Anyhow, all these will have to wait till next week when I am recharged over the weekend with mahjong.

Hope you all have a good weekend ahead.

走狗..

February 10, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Grace, who is not so good in her Mandarin told me a joke on herself.

Yesterday, she went downstairs to look for her hubby who brought the dog down for a walk and bumped into a neighbour. Neighbour is a old uncle who will speak to her in Mandarin.

He asked “出去阿?”

Grace replied “ya, 去走狗…”
